Are you new to Munich? The Munich Onboarding Hub is a central contact point for international professionals, young talents, and their families. As part of the city’s MBQ program (Munich Employment and Qualification Program), it is run in partnership with “Münchner Volkshochschule” and “Goethe-Institut”.

Its mission: making your arrival and long-term integration into life and work in Munich as smooth as possible – through free or low-cost events, trainings, and support services.

What you will find at the Munich Onboarding Hub

Build new connections and ask questions at our relaxed after-work meetup. Each week, we will cover a new topic about life, work, and community in Munich.

Informal sessions about job search, training, and settling in. Each session is tailored to a specific group, such as young professionals, trainees, or job seekers.

Short seminars covering key topics: first steps after arrival, working conditions, health at work, taxes, education, and more.

Discover Munich through guided walks and tours – with tips on public transport, daily life, and local culture.

Get help writing applications and finding jobs or training opportunities.

Learn German at the Münchner Volkshochschule (MVHS)

The Münchner Volkshochschule (MVHS) is the largest municipal adult education center in Germany. In the program area “German and Integration,” a wide range of German courses are available – both online and on-site – for all language levels.

These courses are designed to:

  • Support your first steps into German society
  • Prepare for everyday and professional life
  • Encourage social and cultural participation
  • Help build personal and professional networks.

 

MVHS is also an accredited examination center for official German language certificates from the Goethe-Institut, TestDaF Institute, and telc.

Digital education and community support at ReDI School Munich

The “ReDI School of Digital Integration“ is a non-profit tech school offering free and fair access to digital education for internationals and marginalized local communities. The goal is to provide digital skills that support career development, integration, and participation in the digital realm.

At the Munich location, ReDI School offers a wide range of courses for all skill levels – from basic computer use to advanced IT training. In addition to technical knowledge, participants gain access to a strong network of mentors, professionals, and companies in the digital sector.

Participants can join the local tech community and develop practical skills for the digital job market. Courses are available in English and include:
